Peace & quiet at

Greenwood Cottage

Please note - the B&B is open now, subject to coronavirus restrictions, and I will keep at least 2 days free between bookings in order to allow for an enhanced cleaning process.

I offer a high quality personal bed and breakfast service within a peaceful and relaxing retreat for two people looking for a location that is typical of Skye with wide countryside views along a very quiet road, ideally situated between the Skye Bridge and the Mallaig to Armadale ferry, both of which are about 20 minutes away.

In the evenings, guests have exclusive use of the lounge that has wide views of the countryside and a very cosy wood burning stove, and the modern interior and comfortable, well equipped accommodation are aimed at providing an experience which I hope you will enjoy

Take a short walk from the house to the nearby loch or watch the light changing over the tops of Blaven and the Cuillins or Ben Sgriteall on the mainland.  Hear the squeal of buzzards flying overhead or keep an eye out for the elusive eagles that sometimes come our way.

Parts of Skye are becoming very busy and expensive, but South Skye is still an undiscovered gem and the B&B is very near Kinloch Lodge, Eilean Iarmain and Duisdale House which are ideal for that special evening meal, or Broadford is about 20 minutes away where there are other restaurants and cafes.

The comfortable lounge

Fabulous views

There is a guest lounge or relax outside and soak up the views of the countryside and the mountains in the distance. Take a walk from the house either to the nearby loch or along the quiet single track road.

Large living area

The lounge is exclusively for guests to use in the evening and the TV is set up with NETFLIX for your enjoyment. Come back from a wonderful day exploring the island and revive yourself with a cup of tea or fresh coffee and homemade cake. Books, maps and binoculars are available for guests to borrow, or I could tell you all about my favourite secret places on Skye.

Full Scottish breakfast

I offer a very varied breakfast menu, including a full Scottish breakfast and fish, souffle or pancakes for a lighter option. My fresh fruit salad is much appreciated, as are the home-made jams and marmalade and freshly brewed fairtrade coffee.

Luxury ensuite

There is a spacious shower cubical with a large rain shower and I supply luxury linen, cosy dressing gowns, slippers and large soft towels.

Why come to Greenwood Cottage?  Because you will find a warm and caring host there who will be able to advise you on how to visit the island.  Also because you can rest there in a comfortable bed with soft sheets.  If the place is pleasant for rest, it is also pleasant for the eyes thanks to a cosy decoration and a breathtaking view of the countryside.  Last, but not least, the delicious breakfast prepared with local and quality products.  In short, this is the perfect place to stay in Skye.  Thanks for everything!  Hope to return.

At Greenwood Cottage we felt welcomed into a beautiful home in a wild and wonderful place.  Christine was both caring and knowledgeable - very helpful in deciding where to go.  Thank you so much from both of us.  Do see as much of Sleat as you can and do make sure you leave room for the fantastic breakfasts!!
